ACTIVE RETIREMENT NETWORK IRELAND

Active Retirement Ireland is the island's largest membership organisation for retired and semi-retired people, bringing together more than 24,000 members and 4,000 volunteers through a network of over 500 local groups. Its core mission is to help older adults stay active, engaged and socially connected, offering a vibrant mix of activities, friendships and community projects that promote physical wellbeing, mental stimulation and a strong collective voice.

Members can join an existing local group or, if none exists, request the creation of a new one, ensuring that everyone - regardless of age, gender or culture - has access to supportive, inclusive gatherings. The organisation also provides a suite of resources such as handbooks, codes of conduct and useful forms, and advocates nationally on behalf of older people, championing their contributions and reducing loneliness through inclusion and empowerment.
