Hope Guatemala (Ireland) Company Limited By Guarantee is a volunteer-run charity that channels Irish support into grassroots projects across Guatemala. By raising funds and partnering with local communities, the organisation enables residents to carry out development work themselves, creating vital employment opportunities while addressing the most urgent needs on the ground. Its core mission is to raise awareness of Guatemalan poverty and to provide direct financial assistance that fuels sustainable change.

The charity's programmes are wide-ranging: feeding 50 children twice daily and funding a doctor's salary at CERNE, awarding grants and scholarships, employing teachers, and delivering education and training for women in natural and preventative medicine. Hope Guatemala also supplies medical equipment, supports the construction of schools and water-storage tanks, offers technical training in land cultivation, and purchases land for vegetable production. Based in County Kerry, the group has run annual fundraising walks, runs and cycles since 2005, and now hosts an online raffle with prizes donated by local artists, with all proceeds directed to its on-the-ground initiatives.
