Valid Nutrition is a research-driven food-technology organisation dedicated to tackling malnutrition in low-resource settings. The company designs and produces ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF) that is plant-based, locally sourced and significantly cheaper than traditional milk-peanut formulations. By developing new product recipes that use ingredients readily available in the regions they serve, Valid Nutrition aims to increase competition in the RUTF market and enable far more children suffering from moderate acute, chronic or severe malnutrition to receive life-saving treatment.

The firm's work spans product development, scientific research and evidence-building publications, with a particular focus on community-based management of acute malnutrition (CMAM) programmes in countries such as Malawi, India and Sudan. Through partnerships with international NGOs and funding bodies, Valid Nutrition also provides expertise on climate-impact assessments, anti-fraud measures and child-protection standards, all under the leadership of founder Dr Steve Collins MBE. Their mission is clear: break the mould of imported solutions by adding value locally and expanding access to affordable, high-quality therapeutic nutrition.
