Welcome Immigrant Centre Company Limited By Guarantee, trading as Welcome English, is a voluntary community organisation dedicated to supporting the English-language development of immigrants who are registered with the centre. By offering free, learner-focused classes, the centre aims to help every participant achieve a functional level of English, empowering them to engage more fully with Irish society.

The programme is delivered by a team of around 35 volunteer tutors, many of whom hold CELTA, TEFL or comparable teaching qualifications. In addition to classroom instruction, Welcome English welcomes volunteers and donors who wish to contribute time, teaching materials or financial support, creating a collaborative environment that benefits both learners and the wider community. With 25 years of experience, the centre now serves roughly 140 students each day across its Cork-based hub.

Through its partnership network and commitment to inclusive education, Welcome English provides a vital bridge for newcomers, fostering confidence, communication skills and a sense of belonging in their new home.
