THE IRISH ASSOCIATION OF FUNERAL DIRECTORS

The Irish Association of Funeral Directors (IAFD) is the professional body that represents the majority of funeral directors on the island of Ireland - its members conduct around 80 % of all funerals. Established in 1979, the Association's core mission is to promote excellence in funeral directing and to foster cooperation among its members so that families receive the highest standard of care and support during difficult times.

IAFD provides a comprehensive framework for its members through a recognised Code of Practice and Quality Standard, an education programme, and a range of membership benefits that include national representation, training, collaborative advice and ongoing professional support. The Association also offers useful public information on funeral arrangements, repatriation and related matters, and is regularly consulted by government bodies, local authorities, media and interest groups on funeral-related policy.

Based in Dublin, IAFD serves funeral directors, associate members and overseas affiliates across the whole of Ireland, helping them deliver compassionate, professional services to the communities they serve.
