Company Description
The Irish Motor Neurone (RMN) Research Foundation is a charitable organisation founded in 2007 and based within Trinity College Dublin. Its core mission is to fund and promote cutting‑edge research into Motor Neurone Disease (MND), also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), by supporting the dedicated MND research group at the university.
RMN’s work centres on enabling world‑leading scientists – most notably Professor Orla Hardiman, a global authority on neurodegeneration and the HSE National Clinical Lead for Neurology – to explore the causes of MND, develop new treatments and improve quality of life for patients and their families. The foundation also runs public‑facing initiatives such as the Beaumont MND Clinic and clinical team, awareness campaigns, and fundraising events that allow supporters to contribute directly to life‑saving research.
Through donations, corporate sponsorship and community‑led fundraising, RMN translates generosity into tangible progress, from precision‑medicine projects like “Precision ALS” to award‑winning research recognised by the Health Research Board. By linking science, clinical care and public engagement, the foundation strives to turn hope into real breakthroughs for those affected by this devastating disease.
