THE DUN LAOGHAIRE RATHDOWN VOLUNTEER CENTRE

The Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Volunteer Centre is an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to growing a vibrant volunteering culture across the county. By linking people who want to give back with local groups that need help, the centre acts as a catalyst for community-led change, encouraging individuals to register online and explore a daily-updated list of roles in their neighbourhood.

For voluntary and community organisations, the centre offers a one-stop-shop of support: a recruitment service through I-VOL, the national volunteer database; bespoke consultancy and training on volunteering best practice; and research and policy work that informs the sector. In addition, the centre raises the profile of volunteering through talks, presentations and a programme of events, while also providing a simple platform for posting and managing volunteer opportunities.

Since 2022 the centre has welcomed over 1,200 new volunteers, processed more than 2,800 referrals and logged in excess of 14,000 volunteer hours, underscoring its pivotal role in strengthening community engagement throughout Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.
