Waterford River Search & Rescue Unit Company Limited By Guarantee is a non-profit, volunteer-run rescue organisation that safeguards the River Suir between Mount Congreve and Cheekpoint. Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the unit provides rapid-response water-rescue services for anyone in difficulty on the river, its lakes or the nearby coast. All crew members are volunteers who undergo rigorous training and are subject to annual assessments by the Community Rescue Boats of Ireland (CRBI) and the Irish Coast Guard, ensuring that rescue operations meet the highest professional standards.
