MID WEST REGIONAL DRUGS TASK FORCE COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

Mid West Regional Drugs Task Force Company Limited By Guarantee is a regional partnership established under the National Drugs Strategy (2001-2008) to research, develop, implement and monitor evidence-based responses to illicit drug use. The Forum coordinates a comprehensive, multi-agency approach across Clare, Limerick, North Tipperary and Limerick City, bringing together health, justice, education and community services to tackle drug-related challenges.

A key focus is education and awareness. The #drugdrivingaware campaign, produced with student union representatives from the Midwest third-level institutions, delivers a series of short videos and a poster drive that explain roadside drug testing, legal consequences and how long substances remain detectable. The initiative forms part of the MWRDAF Third Level Drug & Alcohol Network for the 2024/2025 academic year.

In addition to the campaign, the Task Force maintains a Directory of Services covering child and family support, day services, drug and alcohol programmes, education and training, homeless assistance, income and finance advice, justice and legal aid, mental and physical health, sexual health and young-people support. Through these resources, the organisation provides vital information, training and practical support to individuals, families and professionals throughout the Mid-West region.
