Fighting Words Company Limited by Guarantee is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to nurturing the love of writing in children and young people across Ireland. By offering a range of outreach programmes, writing resources and creative-writing clubs, the charity helps learners of all ages develop confidence in their storytelling abilities, with a particular focus on supporting young writers in the Gaeltacht and in Gaelscoileanna.

Key services include the Write Club and Word Warriors programmes, after-school story sessions, summer-camp writing projects and a library of age-appropriate advice for budding authors. Recent €300,000 funding secured from the Department of Education will be used over three years to expand creative-writing opportunities for young people in Irish-speaking communities. Fighting Words also publishes school stories, showcases work from its clubs, and welcomes volunteers who want to inspire the next generation of storytellers.

Through its inclusive, student-centred approach, Fighting Words empowers emerging voices, encouraging them to explore narrative, poetry and drama while building essential communication skills for life.
