Galway Youth Orchestras & Ensembles Company Limited by Guarantee is a long‑standing, non‑profit musical institution that has been nurturing young talent in the West of Ireland since 1982. As the region’s oldest community orchestra, it provides a vibrant platform for musicians aged 7‑19 to develop their skills, perform publicly and experience the joy of ensemble playing.

The organisation runs a full suite of ensembles for beginners through to advanced players, all under the guidance of professionally trained conductors. Rehearsals take place each Saturday morning in Galway, and the orchestra presents at least two public concerts a year, covering a broad repertoire that spans classical symphonies, contemporary works and commissions by Irish composers. In addition to local performances, the group has toured internationally to France, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Austria and Spain, and regularly collaborates with visiting orchestras, soloists and composers.

Supported by Galway City Council Arts grants and GRETB youth funding, Galway Youth Orchestra remains dedicated to its inclusive ethos – inviting every young musician, regardless of ability, to “Come Play with Us”.
