The Irish Development Education Association (IDEA) is Ireland's national network for Global Citizenship Education, founded in 2004. Working hand-in-hand with a community of 109 member organisations, IDEA champions and strengthens the delivery of global citizenship learning across the island and beyond, reaching over 360,000 learners through the Irish Aid Global Citizenship Education programme in 2022/2023.

IDEA's core activities centre on supporting members with capacity-building, sharing best practice, and advocating for policies that embed global citizenship into education curricula. The association also provides a dedicated members' area, regular news updates, and specialist events such as the "ABC of Global Citizenship Education 2026" conference, fostering a vibrant forum for educators, NGOs and policy-makers.

Based in Dublin, IDEA continues to grow its impact by linking Irish educators with international partners, ensuring that the next generation is equipped to act responsibly and compassionately in an increasingly interconnected world.
