DUN LAOGHAIRE POWERBOAT SCHOOL LIMITED

Dun Laoghaire Powerboat School Limited is a specialist training centre situated in the sheltered waters of Dun Laoghaire Harbour. They deliver a full range of powerboat courses that form part of the Irish Sailing’s National Powerboat Training Scheme and are recognised by the Department of the Marine.

The school’s core offering is the National Powerboat Certificate – a two‑day licence programme that takes students from a small 3.6 m RIB to a larger 5.85 m RIB, covering everything from launch and recovery to high‑speed manoeuvres and man‑over‑board procedures. Complementary courses include the Powerboat Crew Certificate, Safety Boat Training for rescue work, and specialised pathways such as Advanced Powerboat, Dive Coxswain and Sports Boat. Private one‑to‑one tuition is also available, allowing learners to tailor start times, pace and focus to their individual needs.

All courses provide log books, detailed notes and certification with a coastal endorsement, and successful graduates can apply for the ICC International Certificate of Competence.
