Construction It Alliance (CitA) is a not-for-profit organisation that brings together every stakeholder in the Irish construction sector - from architects and engineers to contractors and facilities managers. Born from a research project at DIT Bolton Street in partnership with Waterford IT in 2001, CitA was formally incorporated in 2005 to champion the use of information-communication technology across the AECO community.

CitA's core activities centre on knowledge-sharing and professional development. It runs the CitA Skillnet, a training programme supported by a membership base of more than 100 companies, and delivers a high-profile Digital Skills series each year. Since 2008 the alliance has hosted an annual conference, alternating between the BIM Gathering and Tech Live events, which showcase the latest advances in building information modelling, automation and sustainable construction.

By providing a collaborative platform for industry leaders, CitA helps Irish construction firms adopt innovative digital tools, improve productivity and stay ahead of regulatory change, reinforcing Ireland's reputation as a forward-thinking construction hub.
