Dalkey Community Council Company Limited By Guarantee is a resident-run, charitable organisation that supports and enriches the life of the Dalkey community. Born out of the collective grief following the 1974 Howard family tragedy, the Council was established to provide a focal point for fellowship, well-being and local development. Its core activity is the production of a long-standing, entirely volunteer-written newsletter - recognised as the longest-running community-based publication of its kind - which keeps neighbours informed about health, recreation, leisure and social initiatives.

Guided by the 1974 Memorandum of Understanding, the Council works to increase community harmony, foster the well-being of all inhabitants without distinction, and develop facilities that promote health and social interaction. The executive committee, comprising dedicated volunteers such as the Chairman, Treasurer and Newsletter Editor, oversees a range of functions from planning and distribution to website management and advertising. By offering a platform for information, engagement and collective action, Dalkey Community Council continues to strengthen the spirit of Dalkey and nurture a vibrant, inclusive neighbourhood.
