Crime Victims Helpline is a national, free-of-charge support service for anyone in Ireland who has been affected by crime. Operated with empathy and without judgement, the helpline offers a confidential space for victims to discuss their experience, obtain clear information about the criminal-justice system and understand their rights. Callers can also be directed to local or specialist victim-support organisations that can provide further assistance.

The service covers a wide range of needs, from explaining the steps involved in reporting a crime and the Gardaí's investigative process, to clarifying how decisions to prosecute are made and what compensation may be available. It provides targeted information on the impact of crime on children, older people and families, and offers guidance on special protections, victims' charter rights and court procedures. Available Monday to Thursday, Saturday and bank holidays, the helpline also features an online live-chat option, ensuring that help is accessible whenever it is required.
