Irish Tourist Assistance Service (Tourist SOS) is a free, nationwide support service dedicated to helping international visitors who encounter crime, accidents, medical emergencies or other distressing incidents while in Ireland. Operating seven days a week, the organisation works closely with the Garda Síochána, embassy staff and the tourism and hospitality sector to ensure that guests can resolve practical problems quickly and get back to enjoying their holiday.

Tourist SOS offers a comprehensive range of assistance, including reporting crimes, liaising with banks and credit-card companies, contacting embassies for lost passports or identity documents, arranging alternative travel, providing medical-care guidance, and, where necessary, securing short-term emergency accommodation. The service also supports visitors dealing with bereavement or the aftermath of an accident, helping them navigate the paperwork and logistics involved.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Tourist SOS has built a strong reputation for rapid, compassionate help - a fact reflected in numerous thank-you messages from visitors from across Europe who have been able to continue their trips thanks to the team's swift intervention.
