GS1 Ireland is the national hub for the world-wide GS1 system of standards, helping Irish organisations of all sizes to improve the efficiency, safety and visibility of their supply chains. By allocating unique, globally recognised barcode numbers and supporting the adoption of 2-D codes such as QR and Data Matrix, GS1 Ireland enables businesses to track products and assets across physical and digital channels in sectors ranging from retail and food-grocery to transport, healthcare and construction.

Key services include the online Barcode Manager, which lets members allocate numbers and generate barcode symbols with ease, and the Logistics Label Tool, a simple solution for creating SSCC pallet labels. GS1 Ireland also offers specialist training on barcoding, Unique Device Identification (UDI) and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), plus regular webinars and events. Membership gives access to a portfolio of standards, case-study insights - such as the COVID-19 vaccine traceability programme - and ongoing support to drive cost savings, sustainability and consumer trust across Ireland.
