Sunyata Retreat Centre Company Limited By Guarantee is a Buddhist retreat centre set on a tranquil 10-acre site in rural County Clare. From July 2025 the centre operates as a sub-branch of Sumedhārāma Monastery, with Ajahn Vajiro serving as spiritual director and resident monastics providing guidance throughout the trial period. Inspired by the Thai Forest tradition of Ajahn Chah and Ajahn Sumedho, Sunyata offers residential retreats, daily meditations, and a programme of workshops designed to introduce mindfulness, meditation and Dhamma to people of any faith or none.

Key events include the Spring Weekend Retreat (20-22 February 2026) led by Ajahn Vajiro, as well as regular meditation sessions and opportunities to volunteer and stay overnight on the grounds. All activities are run on a voluntary basis, keeping participation costs low and encouraging donations to support the centre's day-to-day operations. Sunyata's welcoming ethos aims to make the benefits of Buddhist practice accessible to all who visit.
