Company Description
The Industrial Heritage Association of Ireland (IHAI) is a national charity founded in June 1996 to champion the conservation, recording and restoration of Ireland's industrial heritage-from the late-eighteenth century right through to the recent past. By raising public awareness and supporting the preservation of historic sites, the IHAI helps ensure that these once-vital landmarks are not lost to neglect or demolition.
The association offers a range of member-focused services, including specialist tours, continuous professional development (CPD) courses and regular events that bring together enthusiasts, scholars and practitioners. Through its extensive network of links to local and national organisations, IHAI provides members with access to a country-wide map of newly opened industrial heritage sites and a hub of resources for research and collaboration. Membership is open to individuals and established groups with an interest in any aspect of Ireland's industrial past, making the IHAI a vibrant community for anyone keen to explore and protect this unique facet of Irish history.
