Castlebar Social Services Company Limited By Guarantee is a charitable organisation founded in 1973 to support older and vulnerable residents of Castlebar and the surrounding areas of County Mayo. With the backing of around 60 dedicated volunteers and charitable status CHY 9885, the service places a strong emphasis on reducing isolation and promoting wellbeing among the elderly.

The charity delivers a suite of community-focused services, including a daily Meals-on-Wheels programme (a three-course, nutritionally balanced meal for €7, available any day of the week, 365 days a year), a Befriending Service, a Day Centre for social activities, and practical support such as pendant alarms, laundry assistance and the innovative "Message In A Bottle" outreach. In addition, Castlebar Social Services runs a home-style bakery, Castlebar Cakes, producing custom celebration cakes and a range of traditional baked goods for local shops.

Working closely with the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, the organisation's holistic approach combines practical care with social engagement, ensuring that older people in Castlebar enjoy a higher quality of life and a stronger sense of community.
