EPIC EMPOWERING PEOPLE IN CARE

Epic Empowering People in Care (EPIC) is a national charity dedicated to ensuring that every child and young person in the Irish care system is valued, respected and heard. Through a network of trained EPIC Advocates, the organisation provides personalised support to children and young people in care, after-care and those with care-experience up to the age of 26, helping them navigate education, health, legal rights and everyday challenges.

Key services include one-to-one advocacy, a vibrant EPIC Care Community for current and former care-leavers, and a regularly updated news hub that shares project updates, research findings and employment opportunities. EPIC also drives policy change through inclusive research, such as its recent report on separated children seeking international protection, and implements a five-year strategic plan (2022-2027) focused on accountability and community-based solutions.

With offices in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Mayo, EPIC serves children and young people across the Republic, working in partnership with civil-society organisations, government bodies and local communities to empower those who have been in care.
