FINGLAS ADDICTION SUPPORT TEAM

Finglas Addiction Support Team (FAST) is a community-driven organisation founded by local volunteers in 2004 to fill a gap in drug- and alcohol-related services for Finglas and its surrounding areas. Based in Finglas, Dublin, FAST delivers fair, inclusive and high-quality care to individuals experiencing substance misuse and to the families affected by it, guided by a vision that everyone should receive the help they need, when they need it.

The service offers a comprehensive suite of programmes, including a Polydrug Use Service, the Recovery Pathways Day Programme, specialised addiction counselling and dual-diagnosis assessments. Through its partnership with the Abigail Centre, FAST provides targeted support for women, while family-support sessions create a safe, confidential space for relatives. Holistic therapies such as meditation and acupuncture, after-care groups, and a peer-run Recovery Social Group round out the offering, ensuring participants have continuous, person-centred pathways to lasting recovery.

FAST's work is underpinned by five core values-dignity, integrity, empowerment, quality and compassion-and a strategic plan (2022-2024) focused on integrated pathways, service development, organisational sustainability and community awareness. This blend of evidence-based practice and genuine empathy makes FAST a vital resource for those seeking to rebuild their lives and reconnect with their families and community.
