THE ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY AND COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOLS

The Association of Community and Comprehensive Schools (ACCS) is the national representative body for community and comprehensive schools throughout Ireland. It works to support school leaders, boards of management and trustees by providing up-to-date guidance, training and resources that help schools operate efficiently and comply with statutory requirements.

ACCS offers a comprehensive suite of services, including school-management and governance advice, health-and-safety risk management, curriculum support, insurance guidance and data-protection (GDPR) compliance. It also runs a robust programme of professional development - from board-training videos and webinars to middle-leadership courses - and publishes newsletters, bulletins and specialised resources on topics such as child protection, special educational needs, remote learning and the latest Department of Education circulars. Member schools benefit from a central hub of information covering admissions, human-resources policies, employment contracts, and the care and management of students.

By acting as a conduit between schools and the Department of Education, ACCS ensures that its members stay informed about legislative changes, assessment reforms and best practice, helping Irish schools deliver high-quality, inclusive education for all learners.
