Akina Dada wa Africa (AkiDwA) is a national network of migrant women living in Ireland, founded over two decades ago and recognised as a leading NGO on the issues affecting this community. Based in Dublin, AkiDwA works across the country to empower, support and advocate for migrant women through a range of specialised programmes.

The organisation delivers cultural-competence training for service providers, and runs dedicated support services on gender-based violence, domestic violence, and female genital mutilation (FGM). Its health initiatives address physical, mental, reproductive and social well-being, while integration projects provide accessible information for female International Protection Applicants. AkiDwA also runs leadership development, such as the IDEAL training course, and organises events, reports and arts-based activities that raise awareness and build resilience among migrant women.

Through its thematic focus areas and collaborative projects, AkiDwA offers a vital platform for sisterhood, advocacy and empowerment, helping migrant women navigate life in Ireland with confidence and dignity.
