Company Description
The Irish Lung Fibrosis Association (ILFA) is a national charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with lung fibrosis and their families. Through evidence-based information, practical resources and a compassionate support line, ILFA empowers patients, assists healthcare professionals and advocates for better services, research and public awareness across Ireland.
Key activities include a suite of free patient-focused services - regular online exercise classes, mental-health and resilience workshops, and twice-annual Patient Information Days that bring together experts, patients and carers. ILFA also funds research projects, provides educational bursaries for healthcare staff, produces specialist publications and runs the 2000 Steps Exercise Programme, supplying participants with exercise packs and monitoring tools. In addition, the organisation lobbies government and the HSE, collaborates with national and European alliances, and partners with corporate supporters to sustain its work.
Guided by a volunteer board of trustees with lived experience of lung fibrosis, ILFA operates with transparency, adheres to the Charities Governance Code and aligns its sustainability commitments with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 - Good Health and Well-being.
