Company Description
Christian Blind Mission (Ireland) is a humanitarian organisation dedicated to ending avoidable blindness, providing essential medical care and championing inclusive development for people with disabilities in the world's poorest communities. Drawing on partnerships with local NGOs, CBM Ireland delivers eye-health services-such as cataract surgeries, eye-disease screenings and newborn vision checks-as well as broader community programmes that empower individuals through education, livelihood support and advocacy for fairer policies.
Key initiatives include the "Preventing Childhood Blindness" project in Madagascar, which trains rural health workers to screen newborns; "Youth First" in Kenya, a school-based programme that builds emotional resilience and life-skills for early-teenagers; and "Funding Fairer Futures," which supports disability advocates across Europe and the Global South. To date, CBM's global network has impacted 4.4 million lives, performed over 103 000 cataract surgeries and reached 145 000 people through inclusive development projects.
Based in Ireland, CBM Ireland invites individuals, churches and community groups to join its fundraising efforts-whether through coffee mornings, walks or online campaigns-so that every donation can help restore sight, dignity and hope to those who need it most.
