Company Description
The All Island Institute of Public Health (IPH) is a not-for-profit organisation jointly funded by the Departments of Health in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Established before the Good Friday/Belfast Agreement, it provides evidence-based support to health ministries, chief medical officers and a wide range of stakeholders-including clinicians, community groups and policy makers-so that public-health policies are equitable and grounded in the best available research.
IPH's work spans the full spectrum of public-health challenges. It produces strategic guidance such as the five-year "A Healthier Island for All" plan, delivers specialised training in Health Impact Assessment (HIA 2.0), and creates practical resources like the "Championing Change" advocacy guide. The Institute also leads major research projects, for example the €2.4 million PEACEPLUS grant on health-related social impact, and runs webinars, reports and multimedia campaigns on topics ranging from ageing and physical activity to climate change, gambling harms and the commercial determinants of health.
By partnering with organisations across the island, IPH aims to improve health equity, reduce inequalities and make lives better for all Irish people. Its multidisciplinary focus and collaborative approach position it as a leading voice in shaping a healthier future for the whole island.
