Company Description
Rowing Ireland - the Irish Amateur Rowing Union Company Limited By Guarantee - is the national governing body for the sport of rowing on the island of Ireland, overseeing both the Republic and the North. It provides a central hub for athletes, clubs and volunteers, managing everything from individual membership registration and club affiliation to the organisation of a full calendar of competitive events, including the Irish Indoor Rowing Championships, Shandon Head of the River and a series of Head-of-the-River races across the country.
Beyond competition, Rowing Ireland runs a vibrant community programme: annual awards that celebrate excellence, a Volunteer of the Month scheme, and specialised upskilling days such as the inaugural Beach Sprint session at Lough Rinn. The body also supports high-performance pathways, highlighted by recent triumphs on the international stage, and showcases a roster of elite rowers from senior, lightweight and Paralympic squads. By uniting clubs, athletes and supporters, Rowing Ireland nurtures the sport from grassroots to elite level, fostering participation and achievement throughout Ireland.
