Sierra Leone - Ireland Partnership Company Limited By Guarantee (SLIP) is a charitable organisation dedicated to forging stronger ties between Sierra Leone and Ireland while championing the education of vulnerable girls in Sierra Leone. By piloting a community-based model, SLIP works to keep girls aged 12-18 in secondary school, addressing barriers such as child marriage, teenage pregnancy, poverty and limited school resources.

The partnership's core programmes combine advocacy, mentorship and practical support. SLIP provides essential school supplies, hygiene kits and psychosocial care, while linking each girl with a trained female mentor. It also runs community-sensitisation workshops and participatory research projects that give girls a voice in policy discussions. With a €25,000 pilot budget, the initiative aims to support 100 girls across three secondary schools, monitor their academic progress and wellbeing, and generate evidence-based recommendations for wider adoption.

Operating from Ireland, SLIP brings together Irish donors, volunteers and development partners to create sustainable, scalable solutions that empower girls, strengthen community attitudes towards education and ultimately contribute to lasting change in Sierra Leone.
