Carysfort Press Limited is a leading Irish publisher specialising in theatre and the performing arts. Founded in the summer of 1998 and backed by the Arts Council for more than fifteen years, the press is driven by a belief that drama plays an ever‑increasing role in contemporary society and that both professional and amateur theatre remain central to Irish culture.

The press produces high‑quality publications that are scholarly yet accessible, offering a platform for critical thinking across the arts. Its catalogue spans contemporary writing about theatre, as well as works on the broader performing arts, including art and humanities, music and translation. All titles are written and/or edited by academics, ensuring rigour while remaining engaging for a wide readership.
