Company Description
Bray Community Addiction Team (BCAT) is a community-owned service that has been supporting people affected by drug and alcohol misuse in Bray and the surrounding area since 2002. Managed by a voluntary board of directors and delivered by a dedicated team of twelve staff members, TUS workers and volunteers, BCAT provides a safe, non-judgemental space where individuals and families can access practical help and evidence-based recovery programmes.
Key services include a Drop-In centre offering food, shower and laundry facilities together with one-to-one assistance, a Needle Exchange Service for intravenous drug users, and outreach visits to hospitals, hostels and treatment centres. BCAT also runs SMART Recovery groups, which use a science-based 4-point programme to empower participants, and offers Family Support through the Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) model. For people in custody, the Prison Links service provides harm-reduction advice, goal-setting, sentence management and post-release care planning.
Rooted in Bray, County Wicklow, BCAT's holistic approach combines practical support with specialist interventions, helping individuals, families and the wider community move towards lasting recovery.
