The Donegal Centre for Independent Living (DCIL) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to empowering people with disabilities throughout Donegal to live independently and participate fully as equal citizens. By placing choice and control at the heart of its work, DCIL helps individuals shape their own lives, whether that means accessing education, securing employment or simply enjoying everyday activities with dignity.

DCIL's core services include the pioneering Personal Assistance (PA) programme, which matches trained assistants with "Leaders" to provide personalised care, household help and social support. It also offers Educational Support Workers for third-level students, an accessible transport hire service for those without suitable travel options, disability-awareness training for schools, and professional accessibility audits to create inclusive spaces. All of these initiatives are underpinned by the centre's commitment to the independent-living philosophy - that people with disabilities deserve the same opportunities, choices and respect as anyone else.

Based in Donegal, DCIL works closely with local partners such as Donegal County Council to run campaigns like "Put Us To Work", championing the employability and capabilities of disabled people across the region.
