HIGHLANES GALLERY

Highlanes Gallery is Drogheda's municipal art gallery and visual-arts exhibition centre, opened on 4 October 2006 to provide the north-east of Ireland with a dedicated space of international standard. The gallery showcases a diverse collection of more than 100 works, ranging from 18th-century paintings to contemporary sculpture, and continues to grow under the stewardship of the original founders - artist Bea Orpen, husband Terry Trench and the 1947 Museum Committee.

The venue programmes a lively calendar of exhibitions, family-friendly events, talks, tours and educational workshops, featuring artists such as James Moonan, Breda Marron and Jackie Nickerson. By offering a welcoming hub for both emerging and established creators, Highlanes Gallery enriches the cultural life of the community and invites visitors to explore, reflect and be inspired by the visual arts.
