AHECS - the Association of Higher Education Careers Services - is the recognised voice for careers and employability professionals across Ireland's third-level sector. Established in 1969 and now representing 26 universities, technological universities and institutes of technology, the organisation works by-member to help careers teams develop their skills, share best-practice resources and champion graduate outcomes for more than 400 000 students, including 50 000 who are preparing for graduation.

Through a robust programme of events, awards and professional development opportunities, AHECS enables its members to network, learn and showcase innovative employability initiatives. Highlights include the annual AHECS Employability Awards, sector-wide career fairs at institutions such as Trinity College Dublin, University of Limerick and University College Cork, and the biennial conference that brings together senior careers staff from across the island. The association also produces research such as the Graduate Market Survey and collaborates with partners like Gradireland to inform policy and practice.

AHECS is a member-run, not-for-profit body that exists to support and amplify the work of higher-education careers services, helping students transition smoothly from study to successful employment throughout Ireland.
