Company Description
The Institute of Archaeologists of Ireland (IAI) is the all-island representative body for professional archaeologists working throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland. Its core purpose is to advance and strengthen the archaeological profession, ensuring that the nation's rich material heritage is protected and that archaeology contributes to the social and economic wellbeing of the wider community.
To achieve this, the IAI delivers a suite of professional services, including the development and promotion of its Codes of Professional Conduct and a robust Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme. The Institute is actively engaged with a broad range of stakeholders-government agencies, heritage bodies, developers and the public-to shape policy, improve resource management and raise awareness of Ireland's archaeological legacy. Central to its strategy is the implementation of a forward-looking 5-Year Plan (2024-2029), which underpins long-term growth, sustainability and public outreach for the sector.
