The Nepal Leprosy Trust (Himalayan Handicrafts) Company Limited By Guarantee is an Irish-registered charity dedicated to empowering people affected by leprosy and other forms of disadvantage in Nepal. Through a holistic, no-discrimination approach, the Trust supports health, education and livelihood initiatives that break stigma and build sustainable futures.

Key programmes include the Lalgadh Leprosy Hospital and Services Centre, which now benefits from a donated Philips C-Arm mobile imaging unit, and community-driven income-generation projects such as soap and washing-powder making workshops for vulnerable women. The Trust also runs a child-sponsorship scheme that funds school fees, supplies and mentorship, ensuring that children from leprosy-affected families can pursue education without fear of exclusion. Fundraising and advocacy are bolstered by regular live broadcasts, partnerships with the HSE, Mercy University Hospital and Irish public-health bodies, and a range of volunteer opportunities.

Operating from Ireland while working closely with partners on the ground in Province 2, Nepal, the Nepal Leprosy Trust lives its vision of "beating leprosy, breaking stigma and building lives" through practical skill-building, compassionate healthcare and community-led development.
