The Irish Institute of Cognitive & Humanistic Psychotherapy (IICHP) is a professional body that supports therapists and graduates of its training programmes. Established in the early 1990s and funded entirely by membership subscriptions, the Institute provides a framework for ongoing clinical supervision, continuing professional development and adherence to best practice standards.

IICHP offers two tiers of membership - Accredited and Associate. Accredited members must maintain public liability and professional indemnity insurance, engage in regular supervision and stay up-to-date with developments in clinical practice. Associate members are typically graduates who are not yet practising professionally. Many members also hold specialist qualifications in areas such as bereavement, family therapy, couple counselling, addictions, post-traumatic stress, as well as life and business coaching, allowing the Institute to represent a broad spectrum of therapeutic expertise.

Through its membership network, IICHP helps clients across Ireland find qualified therapists and promotes high-quality, human-centred psychotherapy throughout the country.
