WALKINSTOWN ASSOCIATION FOR PEOPLE WITH AN INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

Walkinstown Association for People with an Intellectual Disability (trading as WALK) is a charitable organisation dedicated to enabling individuals with intellectual disabilities to lead full, meaningful lives. Guided by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, WALK focuses on the right to independent living, education, work and cultural participation, ensuring that each person can take part in society on an equal basis.

The charity provides a range of support services that are accessed through referral from HSE Disability Services. These include personalised programmes that promote independent living, access to education and training, and supported employment opportunities. WALK actively builds partnerships with educators, employers and industry leaders - for example, its collaboration with Sysco Ireland's Purpose Academy and its recent award from the Empower Tech Futures Fund - to create pathways for skill development and meaningful work.

Rooted in the values of equality, dignity, respect, participation and inclusion, WALK works to create inclusive communities where every individual can choose the life they desire, while continually seeking innovative ways to empower the people it serves.
