Company Description
Restorative Justice in the Community (RJC) is a not-for-profit project, formerly known as the Nenagh Community Reparation Project, that delivers restorative-justice services across Ireland with a base in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. Funded and supported by the Probation Service, RJC brings together victims, offenders and community members to collectively decide how the harm caused by a crime can be repaired. By giving victims a voice and offering offenders the chance to accept responsibility and make amends, the project aims to create outcomes that are more satisfying for those affected, more constructive for the wider community and more re-integrative for the offender.
RJC's core offering is a voluntary, facilitated restorative process. Those referred by the courts are invited to an initial meeting where the offence and the participant's role in the process are discussed. Participants can engage to the extent they feel comfortable, and the service is designed to be flexible and supportive. In addition to its restorative work, RJC welcomes volunteers who wish to contribute to the programme's mission, providing a valuable opportunity to support community healing and justice.
