It connects individuals who want to give back with community and voluntary organisations, offering an easy-to-use online portal where volunteers can register, browse roles by category or by specific charity, and access the national i-VOL database.

Beyond matching people with opportunities, the centre provides a suite of specialist services for not-for-profits, including Garda vetting, consultancy and training on volunteer management, and research and policy work that shapes volunteering practice locally. Its South Dublin Community Volunteers programme supplies staff for events, while targeted projects such as the Ukrainian Crisis Temporary Accommodation Team demonstrate the centre's capacity to mobilise volunteers for urgent community needs, from front-line support in Citywest to translation services and accommodation coordination.
