St Mary’s Day Care Centre is a community‑run organisation that provides a welcoming hub for people of all ages in and around Kilkenny. Established in 2001 by a local group within St Mary’s Parish, the centre was created alongside 14 homes by St Mary’s Voluntary Housing Association, offering a dedicated space where residents can socialise, learn and receive a range of supportive services.

The centre’s programme is deliberately inclusive – there is no age limit and membership is open to anyone who wishes to benefit from its amenities. A varied menu of activities includes chiropody, hair‑dressing, weekly bingo sessions and a lively arts‑and‑crafts club, all designed to promote wellbeing and community spirit. These services are coordinated by a care manager who can arrange access for individuals and groups.

Rooted in the heart of Kilkenny, St Mary’s Day Care Centre continues to embody the spirit of volunteer‑driven hospitality, offering a friendly, professional environment where locals can connect, stay active and enjoy a richer quality of life.
