West Wicklow Community Employment CLG is a not‑for‑profit organisation dedicated to creating local opportunities that foster social, cultural, educational and economic advancement for residents of Kiltegan, Rathdangan, Knockananna, Baltinglass and the wider West Wicklow area. By partnering with the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection, the company offers part‑time and temporary placements for long‑term unemployed or otherwise disadvantaged individuals, enabling them to gain valuable work experience while remaining engaged with their community.

Participants receive a personalised 1‑to‑1 career pathway with a designated supervisor, alongside training that supports their individual aspirations. The scheme is flexible, allowing participants to take additional part‑time work and, upon completion, encourages them to pursue permanent employment using the skills and confidence they have built. West Wicklow Community Employment also works closely with Intreo, the single point of contact for employment and income supports, to provide tailored advice and services for both jobseekers and local employers.
