Company Description
Sick and Indigent Roomkeepers' Society (SIRKS) is Dublin's oldest surviving charity, founded in 1790, and today it continues to bridge the gap for residents who encounter sudden hardship. Drawing on more than two centuries of experience, SIRKS offers emergency financial assistance to individuals and families across Dublin city and county who are coping with illness, unemployment or other unforeseen setbacks, regardless of religious background.
The charity's core services include grant assistance, personal-development programmes and practical support that help people regain stability, rebuild their lives and unlock new opportunities. In addition to direct aid, SIRKS runs a modest shop where supporters can purchase artwork, a historic book on the charity, greeting cards and make donations in someone's name, while corporate sponsors can contribute from a minimum level of €100.
Through these initiatives, SIRKS not only provides a vital safety net but also fosters fresh starts and long-term resilience for Dublin's most vulnerable, keeping the spirit of community care alive well into the twenty-first century.
