EUROPEAN NETWORK ON INDEPENDENT LIVING COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

The European Network on Independent Living (ENIL) is a user-led, Europe-wide forum that brings together disabled people, independent-living organisations and their non-disabled allies. Its core mission is to champion the values, principles and practices of independent living - from personal assistance and community supports to barrier-free environments and appropriate technical aids - so that disabled people can enjoy full citizenship and the human rights set out in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

ENIL delivers this vision through a range of activities. It runs advocacy campaigns such as the Freedom Drive, develops and shares project results, and produces factsheets on key themes like deinstitutionalisation. The network also offers peer-to-peer training, resources for grassroots activists, and a vibrant Youth Network that amplifies the voices of young people. In addition, ENIL maintains an Independent Living map, organises webinars and events, and provides volunteer opportunities through the European Solidarity Corps.

By fostering solidarity, peer support and self-determination, ENIL strengthens the European disability sector and works towards a continent where every disabled person can exercise choice, control and equal participation in society.
