OSSORY YOUTH

Ossory Youth is a youth-work organisation that places young people at the centre of everything it does. Established in 1985 and operating from Desart Hall in Kilkenny, the charity delivers a broad range of programmes designed to support the personal, social and educational development of children and teenagers across both urban and rural settings.

The service portfolio includes City Youth Work and Rural Youth Work, a Youth Diversion Project, and specialist support for ethnic minority groups, mental-health and anxiety issues, alcohol and drug concerns, and LGBTQIA+ young people. Additional programmes cover mentoring, school-based services, youth information, creative arts, youth clubs, counselling, and dedicated initiatives such as Autistic Minds, Taizé and a range of art-creative activities. Ossory Youth also maintains a robust child-safeguarding framework to ensure a safe environment for all participants.

As an affiliate of Youth Work Ireland, Ossory Youth collaborates with national partners to enhance its reach and impact, offering a trusted, youth-focused hub for young people throughout the Kilkenny region and beyond.
