PROTESTANT AID

Protestant Aid is a historic Irish charity, founded more than 180 years ago with the mission of relieving deprivation across the island. The organisation responds to every genuine request for help without distinction of religion, ethnicity or social background, offering a compassionate safety net for those in need.

Its core services include direct grants to families facing poverty or distress, annuities and heating-cost allowances for the elderly, and a range of educational support-from secondary-school fee assistance to third-level loans. In partnership with its sister charities, The Brabazon Trust and St. John's House, Protestant Aid also provides sheltered housing and nursing care for over 200 older people. Funded largely by legacies and a loyal base of subscribers, the charity supports more than 1,400 families each year, ensuring that financial hardship does not stand in the way of a dignified life or a chance at education.
