Company Description
The Irish Holstein Friesian Association (IHFA) is the national breed society for Holstein-Friesian cattle, recognised by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. Based in Clonakilty, Co. Cork, the Association supports breeders across the Republic of Ireland through a comprehensive breeding programme that complies with EU Regulation 2016/1012.
IHFA delivers a range of specialist services to its members, including the Herd Strategy tool for managing genetic progress, the annual All-Ireland and Master Breeder Awards, and a suite of publications such as the Winter Journal and the IHFA Journal. The Association also organises a busy calendar of events, from awards nights to educational workshops, and offers a dedicated Young Members programme to nurture the next generation of dairy farmers.
By fostering collaboration, providing up-to-date research, and celebrating excellence within the Holstein-Friesian community, IHFA helps Irish dairy producers enhance herd performance, maintain breed standards and stay at the forefront of the industry.
