WESTERN CARE ASSOCIATION

Western Care Association is a voluntary, non-statutory organisation that partners with the Health Service Executive to deliver a comprehensive suite of supports for people with intellectual disabilities and neurodiverse needs across County Mayo. As a charity governed by a board of parents, family members, advocates and volunteers, it places empowerment and community inclusion at the heart of its work, helping individuals live full, satisfying lives as equal citizens.

The Association offers a range of specialist services: adult residential and respite care for those over eighteen; youth programmes for children and teenagers aged seven to eighteen; clinical services that promote health and wellbeing; and social-enterprise initiatives that provide training, education and employment opportunities. These services are tailored to each person's needs, respecting dignity, privacy and the right to make informed choices.

Rooted in a community-driven ethos that values honesty, respect, transparency and fairness, Western Care draws on a long-standing tradition of volunteer involvement and fundraising to enhance the quality of life for the people it supports throughout the county.
