DUBLIN ADULT LEARNING CENTRE

The Dublin Adult Learning Centre is a dedicated basic adult education provider that supports roughly 600 learners each year. Based in Dublin's North-East inner city, the centre offers a welcoming environment for early school leavers, new residents and anyone looking to boost their literacy, numeracy or communication skills.

Courses are designed around the real-world needs of students and fall into three main streams: Basic Education (covering literacy, maths and foundational technology), Community Education and Work-Skills training. A strong emphasis is placed on ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), helping learners-from local residents to newcomers such as women from Somalia-gain confidence in spoken English and everyday written communication. The centre also runs practical IT skills sessions, preparing students for modern workplace demands and examinations such as the driving theory test.
